Our greenhouse gas emission reduction targets validated

24 June 2024

Circet is proud to announce that its greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This independent scientific recognition validates and confirms our commitment to combating climate change and contributing to a sustainable future.

The SBTi project illustrates Circet's commitment to taking concrete steps to reduce both its own environmental impact and that of its entire value chain. Our project was validated by Circet’s Supervisory Board on 6 December 2023, submitted to the SBTi on 8 December 2023 and approved on 13 June 2024.

Our ambitious targets:

  • 42% reduction in scopes 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions, i.e. those generated by our vehicle fleet, between 2022 and 2030
  • 25% reduction in scope 3.1 greenhouse gas emissions, i.e. those generated by purchases of goods and services, between 2022 and 2030
  • 44% of suppliers committed to the SBTi by 2028

The validation of our targets by the SBTi is a major milestone in Circet’s overall drive to reduce its carbon footprint. After more than 18 months of hard work, Circet has now entered a new phase of active, quantified decarbonization.” - Xavier Richard, Head of Environment, Circet

The SBTi validation confirms that our ambitions are in line with the COP21 Paris Agreement target of limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

We firmly believe that companies have a crucial role in the fight against climate change and are determined to play our part. We invite all our stakeholders to join us and work together for a more sustainable future.
